Based in Montgomery in mid Wales, artist Alex Boyd Jones explores traces of human presence, from remnants of the past to signs of an imagined future. She has a long-standing interest in human-made structures that resonate with her in ways that aren’t always easy to define. These connections often happen unexpectedly, sparking memories, emotions, or curiosity through encounters with places, found images, or words in a book.

Drawing is a key part of her work, valued for its immediacy and the physical engagement it provides across different media. Since returning fully to her art practice in 2020, Alex has exhibited in public and private galleries across England and Wales in both solo and group shows. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and internationally. She holds a Fine Art degree from DeMontfort University and a Masters in Museum Studies from Leicester University and has over 20 years of experience as a curator in UK public galleries. Alongside her practice, she continues to work as a freelance curator and mentor for contemporary artists.
