What type of information do we collect?

We receive, collect and store certain information you enter on our website, when visiting our gallery, or provide to us in other ways, including when you contact us by email, telephone or letter. These are the circumstances under which we do so:

(i) if you visit our website you should note that we use software, including Google Analytics, to measure and collect information such as page response times, length of visits to pages, page interaction and methods used to browse away from the page. This data is not personally identifiable to you

(ii) if you subscribe to our newsletters, loyalty schemes, similar channels or otherwise ask to be notified of gallery activity, we will collect and store your name and contact details (usually your email address only) until such time as you unsubscribe or tell us to delete your data (see below for instructions on how to do this)

(iii) if you purchase via our online shop, we receive, collect and store personally identifiable information that may include your name, delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number (if you provided it), purchase history and copies of any communications between us regarding the transaction(s). In addition, the payment platforms that we use (see below) collect and store your payment details, such as credit card information, although we do not receive this data.

​(iv) if you buy from the gallery in-store and you use a credit card, we will receive, collect and store your name, purchase history and copies of any subsequent communications between us regarding the transaction(s). We will also collect and store any other information that you opt to provide, such as an email or shipping address. In addition, the payment platforms that we use (see below) will collect and store payment details, including credit card information and your home address although we do not receive this data. If you use another payment method, such as cash, we will not receive, collect or store any information about you unless you opt to provide it.

(v) if you are an artist whose work is represented in our gallery, we will receive collect and store your name, email address, telephone number, studio address, bank details, copies of correspondence between us, records of the work that you supply to us and relevant information about you and your art that we have researched online or that you have provided to us.

(vi) if you contact us via email or the contact form on our website, we will store a copy of the message(s) and your email address.

(vii) if you visit our gallery then you should note that we use CCTV surveillance at all times. The recordings are kept for 31 days before being deleted

Why do we collect such personal information?

​(i) we collect the above information for the following purposes:​ to enable us to provide a service to customers, artists and other suppliers;

(ii) to enable us to contact customers and artists with general or personalized, service-related, notices and promotional messages;

(iii) to create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal Information, which we may use to develop and improve our services; 

(iv) to comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

How do we store, use, share and disclose your personal information?

Any of the personally identifiable information listed above that we receive and collect may be stored:

(i) in password-protected files on the gallery’s dedicated computers, which are also password-protected. These files can also be accessed via apps on the gallery owners’ password-protected mobile device(s)

(ii) on the gallery’s EPOS (till) system, which is password protected

(iii) on cloud-based data storage systems, including Dropbox (you can find Dropbox’s privacy statement here .) These files can be accessed via apps on the gallery owners’ password-protected computer and mobile device(s)

(iv) in the form of handwritten notes or printed documents where it is absolutely necessary to do so. Such paperwork is kept in a locked cabinet.

We generally store such information for a period of five years from the last time that we had communication with you.

Unless you give us express consent to do so, we do not share any of the personal or non-personal information that we collect with any other third-parties other than delivery companies and even then only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services.

​​​If you purchase work through an Own Art loan, we will have access to the additional information about you that was necessary to complete the application form. The application itself is processed by Own Art and their privacy statement can be read here.

How do we communicate with you?

​We may contact you regarding purchases that you have made, the stock that you supply, enquiries that you’ve made, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce applicable national laws and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes, we may contact you via email, phone, text or social media messages or postal mail.

​If you visit or buy from our gallery or website, we may ask whether you wish to be contacted in future with general information or promotional communications; however, you may decline the invitation and even if you choose to be contacted you can opt-out of receiving further communications and/or ask us to delete your details at any time by getting in touch via any of the channels below.

How do we use cookies and other tracking tools?

​To improve your experiences on our website and in common with most other websites, we use cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our site may place on your computer as a tool to remember your preferences for the next time you visit. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to enjoy the full functionality of our website.
